Contacting websites directly and making a report If you’re under 18 and an indecent or nude pic of you is posted online, that is illegal. If you confirm your age by emailing your passport to a Childline counsellor, we can make a report to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) who will contact the website to try and remove it without anyone else being involved.

I also have been getting friend requests from strangers who have been FB users only a few days and have less then five friends each. They lure you in with seductive women (or men if you are female) and they try to get information out of you without interrogation but with chatting. I am a Social Media manager and receive many "friend" requests for my client's pages by accounts of supposed "young girls" that the client obviously does not know. There is very little information other than a birthdate (usually somewhere between 1983 - 1992) and a provocative picture (but no nudity so as to avoid being banned by Facebook).Within 48 hours of hitting the streets, one-third of these children are lured or recruited into the underground world of prostitution and pornography. There are no child "prostitutes" because a minor can only be exploited. When he saw an ad for the dating site Ashley Madison, which boasted 36 million members and the tagline, "Life is short, have an affair," he decided to check it out. Everyday, he received more of these come-ons — until he finally said, "Fuck it." "I'm like, ' Hey, all these women want to talk with me,'" he recalls. As anyone who's dated online knows, this is not entirely unusual. "I just figured they're not interested anymore," Russell says.
